Can CSV and GPX files be on the same GPS or do they have to be converted into one extension?

Favorites/Saved Places vs Custom POI

Note that POI Loader takes either (or both) .csv files and .gpx files (and perhaps associated .bmp, .mp3 and .wav files) that are located in some folder on your computer and creates a Garmin specific file with an extension of .gpi that it places on the device. This is a "Custom POI" file.

Now if you are wanting to know about Favorites/Saved Places, then a .gpx file anywhere on the device (that the unit has not previously seen) will result in new entries to Favorites/Saved Places. A .csv file on the device is ignored.

GPX files can exist and be

GPX files can exist and be read on the GPS.
