EPE 5.91

Is EPE 5.91 still working for you? On my computer EPE does not pop up into a window. It just goes into the tray at the bottom of the screen. If I maximize it it comes up in a full screen. If I try to tile it from there it goes back into the tray. Is it just me or has something changed recently in windows?

EPE reset

I thought Turboccc had programmed a reset into EPE. You'd have to check the old EPE archive threads to find out for sure.

Mine did that, too

When that happens, usually holding the shift key down while starting EPE will work. Last week when EPE stopped working for me, that didn't work. I had to go to a DOS window and type in the path name to EPE, then the full EPE executable name (which escapes me at the moment) and then " -reset", (minus the quotes, of course).
Try the shift key first.

Thanks much. The Shift and start worked.

Thank you for the link. After being an active member for years, I have to recognize I had not seen these FAQ (or I had forgotten - senior moment kind of things).

Requested Search Did Not return any relevant data

All of a sudden EPE 5.91 comes up with this statement on most searches. Some searches, which seem to be local to my home seems to work, but most others do not.

I haven't used EPE for awhile, but this seems to be a recent issue. Has anyone else seen something similar?

I have recently redone the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft file and I would get it all the time.

Now whether this is because Jo-Anns are in strip malls that do not easily reduce to an address or not, I do not know.

You might be onto somethng

I just experimented, with a number of legitimate non mall addresses in the US and Canada and they all geocoded. Use a mall address and it fails. I don't recall this happening in the past. If you use Google Earth or Google Maps a mall address will work.

I tried the address for the JoAnn in Watertown and got the error. If you address the mall at 1222 arsenal or the address for the Salmon Run Mall, they both work. It must be an glitch for the address data base.
