This one has
"

Phone:

"

<Longitude>,<Latitude>,<POI Name>,"<Address>
<City> <State> >Post Code> Phone:>Phone>
<Description>"
which is a "Header" row that many POI files contain.

I just loaded it again and it worked.

By the way - when you try to put in a "<" symbol, you need to replace it with "& l t ;" (without the spaces inside the previous quotes). the other symbol would be represented by "& g t ;" (without the spaces)

There is 2 lines with

There is 2 lines with errors...
Line 1 does not have data, but names ....
Line 4826 has no data in the D field...
I tried copying the line from before into this empty field, but it won't copy and paste correctly....

I'm not kidding...

Please explain how to copy

Please explain how to copy 4825D to 4826D and keep the formatting...

That is the only error that remains... I deleted the stuff in line 1 and it passed that point...

Or,,, I guess I could just delete line 4826 and that might get me past this..... ??

Temporairy fix for this file

I deleted line 1 altogether.. That got rid of that error...
Then I deleted line 4826, the one with no address....
This deleted one WallMart in Utah....

Then, and only then did the CSV successfully load.

That will get me by until the next update...

Help me understand

There is something going on that I think we need to get to the bottom of.

JanJ had a problem and was working hard to debug it for us - which we appreciate.

However, several of us downloaded what we thought to be the very same file that was giving JanJ a problem and it loaded properly for us.

I used both my 765 and 2595 and neither had a problem - each loaded 5225 custom POI on my devices.

It is my experience that a "header" row in a .csv will not cause POI Loader to have a problem.

I did not have a problem loading the entry which had the address "1959 Wall Ave, I-15 Exit 343, Ogden, UT, 84401 ," but which does now show in Excel Col D because there is a "line feed" before the 1959. It just causes the display of the address to be different than if the "line feed" were not there.

Anyway, there is no requirement that there be an address at all. POI Loader help says:

Quote:

POI Loader assumes a .csv file utilizes the following format for each POI (brackets [ ] denote optional text):

<Lon>,<Lat>,["]<Name>[@<Alert Speed>]["],["] [comment]["]

The only required fields are the Lon, Lat and Name. The 4th field can be anything but most developers use it for the address.

I am using POI Loader 2.7.3.0 (click on the icon in the upper left corner to get to "About POI Loader")

Why do I not have the same problems that JanJ is having????
