Nuvi 660 says "Bong - bong - bong."

When I drive by a rest area the device starts going: "Bong - bong - bong." Is it possible to cure it from doing this?

If you want a voice alert to replace the bong see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/4360 . That unit supports a mp3 file.

You evidently have Settings > Proximity Points > Alerts set to give a tone for Custom POIs.

Are you asking how to turn off "alerts" for rest areas ONLY or for POIs in general?

Could be

It could be a couple of things. The first would be to look in Setup and see if alerts are set for continuous or single tone. The second would be to check the file name itself. If there are any digits in the file name such as "Rest Areas Combined(1)" POI Loader will interpret the 1 as a speed and alert until the speed is below 1.
