How to delete POI locations that I no longer want? (Rand McNally)

confused How do I delete POI locations that I added. The ones I'm speaking of are Walmart, Flying J/ Pilot and rest areas. My husband says it drives him crazy. Thanks for any help given.

Delete

On the GPS, there's a delete option under Preferences / My Custom POIs / Manage Custom POIs.

If you touch the "X" next to one of the files, the GPS will ask you to confirm that you want to delete that file.

POI's

Thank you very much. Will they come back on the updates? If so how do I delete them from my computer to keep them from coming back?

If you talking about favorites on this site

Click on the ones you want removed, that puts a checkmark on them, then at the bottom of the favorites page click on the remove selected favorite files. That remove all files that have a check mark on them.

Delete POI's

I guess that only works if you install POI's seperately. In my case I have one folder called POI 855 and another POI 3790 and all required and respective files for the GPS go in there, GPX,CSV, BMP, MP3 or WAV. Then I install them as ONE POI.gpi file.

BTW: I wonder if the OP could delete the unwanted files and then reload them using POI Loader and use the "Manual" setting and set the alert to 0 (ZERO) that should stop the annoyance yet still have the files available.
But then I am pretty new to installing POI's myself so I may be wrong.

the file from the unit it won't come back unless you reload the file through the Dock software. You can delete the file from your computer the same as you would delete any file.
