POI megafile for Base Camp

I am switching from S&T to Base Camp. When using S&T, I downloaded a .stt POI megafile and installed it.
I would like to do the same for Base Camp, but I can’t find the megafile in .CSV format. Any suggestions. Keep in mind that I am a newbie at this.
Thanks

POI megafile for Base Camp

It's not truly compatible as it lacks many elements to make it usable in Base Camp. One of the options is to download the file as a GPX which can be directly imported to Base Camp.

Most of the sites in the Mega File are also available on POI-Factory as stand-alone files with much more information regarding the sites than just the location data.

I downloaded the Passport

I downloaded the Passport America file. It came .CSV format and I am unable to get it in Base camp. How can-I download it as a GPX file, I see no option for that.

Use EPE

Use EPE, Extra POI Editor, it can change the favor from CSV To GPX that what I use because my GPS doesn't load CSV Files that are big. EPE is at the following http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor

Thanks Bobonot, I succeeded

Thanks Bobonot, I succeeded in converting it.

Mgarledge, I was looking for a megafile like the one I have in S&T which include all the interesting POI. I guess that it would not work in Basecamp as I could not switch them on and off as in S&T.

One more question, is-there a way to replace the Icons of the Passport America POI other the one by one.

Thanks-you both

I have not found a way on Basecamp. Don't think it can be done but still looking.

When loading your poi to your Garmin there is a way to send an Icon. I never do that but there are post on this site to tell you how. It has something to do with putting the icon the same name as the poi.

Someone on here help me out...

Yes, that's the one. I can't covert it to GPX file.

of S&T used to allow push pin sets to be output. It appears that feature disappeared along with the color in the toolbar.

BaseCamp will turn on and off POIs

After looking at the web site above and then going to the Discovery web site I see that the Mega file is made up of files you can get here. Our files are updated better than that and there is a way to set them up in BaseCamp to turn them on and off.

Make a List Folder called Megafile (or whatever you want to call it)

In this folder make list for the files you want to put in it
RV Camps
RV whatever
Walmart Parking
(Anything you want)

Now download the files here you want or

If you want the ones in the Megafile you had go to
:
*DiscoveryOwners.com
*Quick Links - Campground/Fuel stop/Service
location Map Overlay Files
*GARMIN GPS USERS - Click HERE
*Custom POI files for your Garmin GPS
These are .csv files so be sure and change them to .gpx

Now when you are in BaseCamp If you want to see the POIs in each list just click on the List (Walmart parking etc.) and the POIs in that list will be on the map.
If you want to see all the POIs in Megafile at once click on the List Folder named Megafile.
If you want to see all your POIs you have in BaseCamp click on My Collection.

Hope you can use some of this.

CTRL-click or Shift-click in the left pane to multi-select waypoints.
Right-click and select Open.
Change icon and it will apply to all.

Thanks Johnc Just tried it.
