Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – July 2014

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Vegas Vacation

Just returned from another trip down to Vegas.

Much busier than I expected for the summer months, and LOTS of families with young children! A lot different than when we started going down there just 15 years ago.

Travelling from Toronto to Walt Disney World

We are travelling to Walt Disney World in mid August from Toronto. We will take I90, I79, I77 route to Florida. I will appreciate any tips on zero tolerance spots (speed wise) on interstates. I don't speed and keep it may be 5 miles over the limit.

You are going to be on Interstates all the way. Just watch your speed when you get off for fuel, services, etc. As long as you don't exceed 8 mph over, you should be just fine. I77 and south if there are No Tolerance zones they will be posted. May be in the form of "Speed Limit Strictly Enforced" signs. They don't want you. They want the 15-25 mph over speeders.

Happy Trails and Safe Trip. Enjoy your visit.

Chicago & South Bend..

Took a 2 day trip with a group to visit some of the company's customers. Went to Chicago for a day, and on to South Bend the next. Luckily still had the Nuvi in my bag from last trip. It "unlost" us after whatever the boys up front was using got us lost.

trip planning

Heading to Vancouver Island on Friday for holidays,I will check out my new maps for any changes on the road.

Short stop home

Spent last week in the hills of Eastern KY. Home just long enough to get the grass mowed. Off to Minneapolis in the morning.

Trip

Well my last good trip was from Tucson,AZ. to Chicago,IL. took the motorcycle out loaded up the one wheeled trailer behind it and off we went. We just followed the weather patterns no problems going there but on the way back hit some heavy rain in Okla. all the way to Santa Rosa,NM.. The next day was a great ride through Hatch,NM. to Deming for the night. When we woke up had to wear full leathers as it was 38° and by time we hit AZ. we started to shed layers, by time we reached home we were in T-shirts.
This was done in September, then got home and had been diagnosed with a Cancer so under went treatments.
So far so good.

Traveling to Florida

I'm traveling to Miami from Chicago via I65, I24, I75, and Florida Turnpike.
Are there any construction issues or any other issues that I should know in advance?

Thanks!

Atlanta!

Atlanta is always an issue. I have not been on that route since March so I don't know about current construction issues, but try to avoid rush hours when going thru Atlanta.
