Garmin 1490 vs Garmin 3597

Last Sunday I drove from Hamilton Ontario to Brampton Ontario with my both nuvi 1490 and 3597 plugged in and navigation ON. Both devices gave me different ETA. Nuvi 1490 showed me arrival 10 minutes earlier but at the end 1490 went 5 minutes up and 3597 went 5 minutes down. Both selected same route.

Not surprising

Garmin says

Quote:

Your device can actually learn from your driving and adapt its internal database to provide better estimates of your arrival time. The device will learn from a driver’s habits and adjust the ETA accordingly. This is done by observing what speed a driver typically drives on each speed category of road and using that data to compute ETA.

Unless you always have both units on and with you, they will have "learned" differently.
