Just a short explanation. This fall I am taking a 6,000 mile plus trip and have been busy downloading POI's that may come in handy on the drive.
I had no problem installing them after some hiccups in my Nuvi 855 for which I had a lot of assistance on POI factory. All the available icons show up when called for.
In the 855 I used *.BMP for the icons and MP3 for sounds since it has a MP3 player.
Now in my 3790 I used *.wav for sounds and *.jpeg for icons.
Took out the 3790 for a drive today, the icons for RLC's and downloaded *.wav files worked for them as well as for a well known coffee shop chain.
Am I mistaken when I expect to see the icons on the 3790 GPS screen when I bring up a location as the 855 does when I am at home?
In the 855 if I bring up a Motel 6 location the icon is very visible on the screen, but that is not the case in the 3790, there is no icon visible.
