I am currently using Trapster RLC files in my Nuvi 50LM.
I will shortly be downloading a copy of the Factory RLC file.
Are there any suggestions or recommendations relating to using these files singly or in combination ?
Would using both sets of files at the same time give me better RLC coverage ? Any problems when both files try to report the same location at the same time?
Interesting question
I am not familiar with the Trapster RLC files or the Nuvi 50LM.
I can't see why they couldn't both "work" at the same time. I also can't imagine why you would want to have them both work at the same time
If the Trapster RLC file has entries that the POI Factory file doesn't (which I would guess highly unlikely), you could edit them into your copy of the POI-Factory RLC file.
Better yet, you could report the "new" red light cameras to POI-Factory (after you have verified them to be accurate, of course) so they can be included in the master file so we can all benefit from them.
Happy POI-ing

I have seen the future and it is now!
We here at poi-factory
We here at poi-factory who have been here for a while think that our camera files are much more accurate than those from other sources.
I had not looked at Trapster before but I downloaded them and looked at cameras around my area.
I wondered whether a particular camera would be in the Trapster file and indeed it was. It was described as "confidence high". The problem is that - even though there are 4 actual cameras at a particular intersection, those cameras have never operated and never will.
Another intersection is mistaking turn lane cameras for red light cameras.
So there are false positives in Trapster.

Well then ...... Looks like I will replace my Trapster files with the Factory counterpart.
boh okay

Nothing wrong with using both, they can overlap. One is better safe than sorry.
Duplication
I somehow have 2 different RLC files from the Factory working on my Nuvi. So I get 2 alerts as I approach each location. Luckily there are few RLC where I drive.
On my next update I will fix that.

First one then the other
...Any problems when both files try to report the same location at the same time?
From duplicate files loaded to my nuvi 760 - first one alert would play the mp3 and then the next one would. They did not step on each other. I can't guarantee what would happen in other models.
Or, load them with different alert distances.

No Problem Using Multiple Files On My TomTom Units

I use the files provided by TomTom and also the files from here. Both work at the same time without any problems on each of my TomTom units.
As a belt-and-suspenders approach, I have the TomTom file set to use one alert sound at a given distance, and the POI-Factory file set to use a different alert sound at a different distance - but they did work when set for the same distance.

have both
I have that Garmin one and poi factory...I found that poi seemed to go off falsely more often. I figure going off too often is better than not enough, but the thinking is flawed, I know. Going off falsely implies not going off legitimately as well, so the Garmin is what I considered the backup. But I didn't renew it....
Shouldn't be a problem
I use the files from here along with other POI files and they all seem to show up together. Looks like it should work.
Thanks ......
Thanks for the feedback. Now that I have the windmill, will try the Factory RLC files. Can always add others later.
Interesting
Assuming both are Excel file - I would work to combine into a single file, eliminating duplicates.
