I just got a second 2460, checked it out and it worked just fine. However, I missed checking the voices and touch sounds. I don't have any. Voice Command works fine, except there in no audible response from the GPS. I have tried different volume levels and Mute is off. Did I get a lemon or am I missing something?

Why are there missing or corrupt voice files on my nuvi, dezl, RV, Camper, LIVE or zumo?
04/09/2014 If any voice files are missing or corrupt on your nuvi, dezl, Camper/RV, LIVE or zumo, you can reload and update them using Garmin Express.
To load or update voices:
1. Download the Garmin Express application: http://software.garmin.com/express.html 2. Install the application on the computer 1 3. Connect the device 4. Click on Device 5. Click on Optional Updates 6. Click on Language Files under Optional Updates and select the desired language(s) 7. Scroll down and click Add to Updates
To change the voice on the nuvi 30, 40, 50, 52, 54, 200, 205, 465, 500, 700, 705, 800, 805, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1690, 2200, 2300, 2400, 5000, and 3700 series devices, dezl 560, LIVE 1695, LIVE 2300, zumo 220 and 600 series devices:
1. Touch Tools 2. Touch Settings Skip this step on some devices
3. Touch Language 4. Touch the box for Voice 5. Select the correct voice from the Voice list 6. Touch OK or Save
nuvi 300, 600 and zumo 400, 500 series devices:
1. Touch Settings 2. Touch Local 3. Select the correct voice from the list 4. Touch OK
dezl 760, nuvi 55, 56, 65, 66, 2405, 2407, 2408, 2505, 2507, 2508, 2707, 2708, 3400, 3500, 3507, 3508 series devices, Camper/RV 760, zumo 350, and zumo 390:
1. Touch Settings 2. Touch Language & Keyboard 3. Touch Voice Language 4. Select the correct voice from the list 5. Touch Save
The device will now speak in the voice you have selected.

The problem with that way of
The problem with that way of updating is that the English file is 943mb. Also, these are the same voice files I have on my other 2460.

Beeps?
When you power it up and get the disclaimer screen, do you get a beep when you press Agree--or a beep for any other icon tap?
If all audio, voice and beeps, are not there and were never there for you, I wonder if the speaker cable connector has come loose inside the 2460. I'm just guessing the 2460 has a connector from the main board to the speaker but if there is one, a disconnected speaker wire would result in no sound.
Before prying into the 2460, have you tried any of these three items: 1) press Volume, confirm the master volume is set--try 80%, press the three vertical bars (upper left), then confirm that Navigation is set to 100%; 2) press Tools/Settings, then the three horizontal bars, then restore; or 3) try a hard reset? I'd try these three first before going into the hardware.
And just to confirm that it's not muted, when you tap Volume, the left middle speaker button is black and white, not blue, correct?
