A newly overhauled (NOH) device is a device that was returned to Garmin to be factory refurbished. Newly overhauled devices go through extensive testing to bring the units up to the same specifications as when they were manufactured as new, maintaining high quality standards. Newly overhauled devices will still have a one year manufacturer's warranty when purchased from a Garmin dealer.
Lower 48
Just a note if it's important to a potential buyer. This is Lower 48 States version of the 50LM, not the North America version. This is not the GPS for you if you plan to drive in Canada, Alaska, etc.
The ad states this is Lower 48 plus Alaska, but this does not correspond to Garmin's specs for this model (Part Number: 010-00991-21) which are City Navigator® NT data with preloaded street maps of the lower 48 states, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthélemy and Jamaica.
The Part Number: 010-00991-20 (which is not being sold in the ad) covers City Navigator® NT data with preloaded street maps for the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthélemy and Jamaica.
Neither model offers all of North America (including Mexico).

God one before for my father
God one before for my father in law... Not refurb and had the NA, so I don't know if I would give this to someone.
Not a bad deal.

Pretty good deal. Brand new on Amazon is $20 more so this isn't bad at all.
Question About This Unit
Does anyone know if the traffic power cord from the 265/255 series will add traffic to a 50LM?
Please share your review once you gets it.

GTM™ 25 /35 with Lifetime Traffic for nüvi 255w/265wt
I looked at the comptatible device list and unfortunately the 50LM isn't listed as being one.

Traffic power cord will not work
The 50LM does not have any capability for traffic monitoring functions at all, so no, using the traffic power cord from a 265/255 series will not add traffic to the 50LM. That function is not built into the firmware.
Traffic on the 50LM
Thanks guys, I figured it was a long shot but worth asking.
Good Deal!
That's a pretty sweet deal!
Nice!
Pretty good Garmin, especially for being a "refurb"... but the way I see it refurbs are actually better because they get individual attention instead of being pushed along a production line.
The Nuvi 50LM doesn't have passcode capabilities like my 350 and it cannot do "TourGuide" entries, but it's still a sweet machine! It has a nice big screen and gives you lots of display options. The 50LM supports microSD and microSDHC memory cards for extra storage too. I bought a vent-mount from WM for about $25 and I like it. It keeps the Garmin in easy reach (and view) while keeping it from moving like the bean-bag mount I currently have.
Overall I'm happy with it and I'm glad I bought it!

Actually it can do TourGuide files, it just can't do MP3 so they need to be converted to WAV and SOX has to be in the POILoader.exe folder.

Tried it..
I have a "tourguide" set up to let me know when i'm near a gas station selling e85 fuel, and after driving right by one i know on the list, it never gave me any kind of indication that i was close....no visuals or anything.

As Boxcar stated, your new nuvi requires wav files (with sox.exe on your PC) rather than the mp3 files your older nuvi could play. Also, TourGuides will not work at all without a valid audio file. Can you confirm that your TourGuide set of files in a computer folder that worked when loaded with POI Loader for your older nuvi is now configured with wav audio files and that you have sox.exe v14.0.1 (nothing newer will work) in your PC folder that contains the POI Loader program?

Success with TourGuides on a nuvi 40, which should work as well with the nuvi 50:

Oh...
I thought it would still work even without audio. I downloaded SOX.exe and got it fixed.
Thanx for the much-needed head-slap!
