Password length limits?

I joined last week because POI Factory kept showing up in search results. There's a lot of info here, and I appreciate the efforts of all involved.
Following the usual registration process, I waited for the initial email, followed the one-time login link, used 1Password to change my password, and thought everything was OK.
But it appears that the cookie from the one-time login was keeping me logged in. When I logged out, and attempted to re-login, I got an error message. I used the Forgot My Password link to re-establish a login. This time I logged out immediately, used the new password (that didn't generate any error messages that I saw) to try to log in, and I'm not recognized again.
It could be that 1P is screwing up. But just in case, is there a password length limit that might not be enforced on a password change, but a long password is then seen as an error on normal login?
1Password
I'm using a 14 character IPassword. Make sure that the Password in your browser cache isn't interfering. Go to the saved passwords in your browser and deleted that password. I don't know which browser you use. Then log back in manually with the 1Password PW. You can save the proper password in your browser the next time you log in.

Oops
It wasn't my password, it was my userID. I had 1P sending my email address as ID.
Thanks for the help.
