Upgrade from 2595 to 2597, I miss the dashboard of 2595.
The 2597 has instant speed on the lower left corner. Can I force it to somthing else like distance to destination...
The reason I upgrade from
The reason I upgrade from 2595 to 2597 so that I can use iphone link with it. 2595 won't let me pass search address info from iphone.
Destination Distance
You can't change the Speed on the left side, but you can have Destination Distance on the right side when on a route. Put the unit on a route and select the right side. There are other choices.
Not sure
Not sure if this will work on the 2597 but it does on my 3597:

It's a set of instructions for setting up a custom dashboard on the 3597. This ability was added to the firmware in a recent firmware update so a similar feature may now be available on the 2597 as the firmware of the 2 units are very similar.
Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.
The 2597 is the same

Interesting
Think I'll have to upgrade since I have an iPhone also.
Garmin Trip-Data
What use to be called “Dashboard” is now “Trip-Data” in the Garmin Nuvi advanced models. Trip-Data and Up-Ahead share the same location on the right side. Both may be active. When one is deactivated, the other will be displayed.
To enable Trip-Data, from the main screen select: Settings, Map & Vehicle, Map Tools. Check Trip-Data and save. Then, in Map View, tap the lower right 3-bar button and tap Trip-Data. Three data windows will be displayed and can be customized to show:
Arrive in *
Destination Distance *
Time to Turn *
Distance to Turn *
Max Speed
Moving Average
Overall Average
Stopped Time
Moving Time
Total Time
Elevation
Direction
Current Time
Time to Via Point *
Distance to Via Point *
Trip A
Trip B
* Available only when a destination is entered
Trip A & B record and store movement data. This can be displayed and/or reset to zero by pressing the speed indicator.
Tap a Trip-Data field to change, then select from the list. Do this with, and without a destination. Change the permanent field in lower right corner the same way.
Oops, I see a link has been provided with similar instructions.
