Spring better be spectacular after a hard winter, but with a couple of feet of snow still on the ground here (Ottawa) I doubt it.

Hope All Were Safe -

Hope all had a safe and Happy St.Patrick's Day especially on the roads and highways. Corned Beef and Cabbage at our house, although traditional Irish dinner is pork belly, bacon, or even chicken.

And why not? Those of us that have hiked a mountain or 2 here in the NE can tell of blizzards as late as the 3rd wk of April. Then the 4th wk. we're out fertilizing our lawns. Those of us that equip our vehicles w/Blizzacks, let alone wear serious head gear, seldom put them away until after tax day.

Here are two sure signs that NE winter is hardly over:

1. NYC media talking heads are already adding up the cost for snow removal.
2. The Weather Chanel has nearly run out of names to call routine NE stormy weather.
