Sometime this week... Pick up batteries for all your devices you depend upon to monitor your health and/or protect your family's health, safety and well being...and next Saturday before bedtime, change batteries in all your gadgets before you change your clocks...if you happen to live in an area where the clocks don't change, just change your batteries... smoke detectors, CO monitors, etc... you know the drill...
9-volts cheap at Harbor Freight
If you hate paying $3 or more for a 9-volt battery like I do, your local Harbor Freight Tools http://www.poi-factory.com/node/3758 sells them for much less. I don't worry about putting cheap batteries like that in smoke detectors as long as I'm changing them every 6 months (and cycling the partially-used batteries into less critical devices like toy R/C car transmitters).
