After the extreme cold snap we had here, I found and corrected a bunch of air leaks to our unconditioned attic space, big gaping holes that were wide open, far worse than just not being insulated. Apparently this is quite common with chase-ways and dropped soffits. I really had no idea.

It's made quite a noticeable difference already but I'm not done.

Update time

My 3597 arrived today. Now to the backups, updates and POI installs. (And yes, it's in Mass Storage mode.)

@canuk

Finally did all the updates including the map. Had to use Express as the latest Map Updater wouldn't write the map to the unit. Took it out this evening for a test run and it worked well. Still needs more work and I need to read the downloaded full manual so I can hopefully learn some of its quirks before trying it on a trip. It is a little different in its operation from the 885 but not enough experience with it to make a comparison. First impressions though, great unit.

Congrats!

I gave up coffee earlier this week

By the looks of things, I think I'm going to need to take it back up this afternoon.

Also, Happy Birthweek, JM!

On the road again

I navigated my way down to the Florida Keys long enough to lose track of time, and will be heading back to the cold north soon.

There is a summer and it's here.
