poi error message

 

Just bought the 7725lm yesterday. As I was importing some custom poi's the unit was reporting numerous errorsxand then locked up. I went in and deleted all the poi's but now when I turn the unitvon it says "custom pois available for importing" . It is showing 366751 records availabke. How can I fix this problem?

I take it you are talking about the Rand-Mcnally unit. If so, there are some caveats to loading CSV files for these. First off, not all CSV files are the same. CSV means the different elements re separated by commas, nothing else. The Garmin format requires 3 elements or fields with an optional fourth. RM uses 9 fields. It's when there is information in the 4th or description field of a Garmin file you run into problems. Additional commas and other characters used to format the CSV for use in a Garmin may not align with the fields used in the RM unit so you get errors.

The best (easiest) fix for this is to look for the file on POI-Factory in a GPX format. JM has added code that will take a GPX format POI file and extract the data used by RM and put it into the proper positions within their CSV file format.

As far as fixing the problem you have now, I can't help. I am not familiar with the units or their Dock software.

I did the same thing

On the dock software you can do a diag (i did) then power it back up and for the imports again.. it fixed my issues.
