Using the bluetooth from GPS Unit with cell phone

Anyone here have any experience using the 2597's bluetooth's function with a cell phone? I understand the advantage is that if you look up a restaurant you can click on the number and call it without typing it into your phone. Does it also act as a handsfree system?

And if so, and I already have a handsfree system in my car, which one would take precedence? Or would it just get extremely confused?

Your phone controls in that it will only pair to one device. It would be either the Nuvi or the car. I prefer the car system over the poor speaker/mic in the Nuvi.

Agree with Box Car

You will likely find your car system to be much better for calls. I used my Garmin only a few times as a result of the car working much better.
