memory card (can't find any slit)

Is it possible to install a memory card on a Garmin Nuvi 1450i series GPS. Directions say to insert card in slit on device, but I can't find any slit. Help! Thanks.

Yes,

Yes, all Nuvi models have an SD slot. On the 1450 I believe it's a regular SD slot (not the newer micro slots) and if I recall correctly (don't have my 14xx model with me) the slot is on the right hand side of the device as you look at the screen.

It's there

I have a 1450. If you look at the front of the thing, the micro SD slot is on the left hand SIDE, near the top. On the SIDE.

Yep Left side on most if not

Yep Left side on most if not all Nuvis.

Nuvi 1450i?

I never heard of an i series.

The 1450 uses the newer micro SD cards that are on the small side, as is the slot on the Nuvi. Perhaps that's why you didn't notice it.

Be careful to insert it the proper way and DON'T force it. Insert it slowly and push it in with you fingernail until you feel it lock into place.
It is spring loaded so to remove push it in slightly with your fingernail and it should pop out.

Dummy SD card?

If I remember right, isn't there a dummy card in the slot when the nuvi is new? This is plain plastic. Just push it in like muell9k says and it will pop out.

Yeah, it's a micro SD, very

Yeah, it's a micro SD, very small and can be missed if not looking specifically for it.

You know

I thought that my 3760 did not have a slot, but sure enough, it does have one on the side. I didn't notice it even after 2 years!

Are you sure?

Although the vast majority of nuvis have SD card slots, I can attest that my 3760 does not have a slot.

Garmin's specs on the 3760LMT and 3760T (the only flavors of the 3760 I see on Garmin's site) state:

Accepts data cards: microSD™ card (not included)

See manual, p44:

[Update] Hey, you are quick. You revised your post before my reply was posted. If you were a bit slower, you wouldn't have had the option to edit. Well done!

Hah!

I looked at the specs too and saw! I got the GPS out and looked for it and found it. I feel like a fool! smile I haven't needed my card yet since the 3760 has good internal storage but I'm glad it's there.
And I certainly appreciate how quickly I was corrected smile

1-cent piece of plastic too expensive for Garmin

Nope.
