In danger of losing your windmill?
Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).
Anything to keep your windmill alive.
This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Repeat trip
To Charleston, WV. Done it many times. Just used the zumo for to find the destination address when I reached Charleston, the Time of Arrival and the Rest Stop alerts.

Last trip with GPS? Took kids to B&O museum in Ellicott City.
Local Errands
Work and local shopping this week. I did encounter police activity on one trip that was pretty exciting - including a suspect stopping their vehicle and attempting to flee on foot. Two officers grappled with the guy and got him down without anyone being seriously injured. Happened pretty quick and backup arrived within a few minutes. No shots fired or weapons displayed. Not sure what the guy was thinking - that was probably the problem...
Savannah, GA
Took a ride down to Savannah for the long holiday weekend.

Plus surrounding areas. Used my Nuvi extensively to find places (not only for fun but caught a cold and had to find a bunch of pharmacies - ugh!).

4 days across the top of Toronto to Mississauga. Not liking the commute, especially if it snows.
All the worlds indeed a stage and we are merely players. Rush
Lots of traveling
Do lots of site visits in ND and MN. Great use for the GPS.

NYC
Very frustrating!
Arriving from the north I wanted to use the Tappan Zee bridge. Review Garmin's directions before the trip, everything was as expected. Stopped on the I87 for gas and then, fortunately, I saw that the directions were changed to go by the GW bridge.
My preference is fastest time but the GW Bridge was both slower and longer routes.
I'm starting to wonder, like someone said recently, deals were made with Garmin to help increase revenues.
But, as the wise sages here always remind us, always review the route to be sure it's reasonable.... saves A LOT of time in the long run!

Portland Fog
GPS really saved the day trying to navigate to a dog show in Portland, OR. this past weekend. The unfamiliar area was immersed in a thick fog bank -- couldn't see any surrounding landmarks at all. GPS got us right to the parking lot entrance purely "on instruments".
Typical trip to Moline IL
Barbara had appointments with two doctors. We did shopping at Kmart to redeem reward points before they go away. We had supper at a place that has a large seniors menu. It's all good.
...First time this year, I saw a woman in a BMW with a phone to her ear.

Lost Satellite Reception
On a return trip from Detroit to Chicago, my trusty 760 announced "Lost Satellite Reception" somewhere between Ann Arbor and Battle Creek. Did not get it back for 10 miles or so. I looked at my phone and it had lost satellite reception at the same time. I have had 'recalculating' in the middle of an open interstate before but never lost reception like that. I was afraid my 760 died, but the phone lost signal, too. And they both came back online at the same time.

I-25 Combat Zone
Finding an alternate route when I saw an accident ahead.
That'll teach me to drive on I-25 combat zone.
Last time I was on I-25, I swore it would be the last time. No GPS at the time, but next time I'm in the area I will use it to avoid the combat zone. Same goes for I-65 between Indianapolis and Chicago.

Madison and then Northwest Arkansas
I had to drive to our Madison office a few weeks ago (from Chicagoland). The drive there was fine, but that was the afternoon that we started getting a lot of strong winds with the snow, bringing near white out conditions on the drive home after dark and it sure kept me on my toes. GPS voice navigation was my friend as I dared not take my eyes off the road as we were diverted at one point around a blocked road through a detour that wasn't really any better than the main road.
This week was a flight to Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Fayetteville. This was the first time in several years where I flew in, instead of driving, so my Nokia Lumia 1520 with Here Drive+ and voice navigation made no mistakes in getting me to the general area of the office. I used it exclusively in the rental car, getting around to otherwise unfamiliar neighborhoods as I visited a company location that I've never been to before.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled forum - already in progress . . .

Electronically naked, that is.
My Mini Cooper is in the shop (covered by the warranty/extended warranty) and I'm driving a loaner. It's nice, less than 2k miles on it, but it doesn't have my communications equipment, the radar detector, the hard-wired GPS, the ECM pod...
And I have to visit a client tomorrow down in Morgan Hill. May take me a bit longer to get there!
