Nokia pulls 'Here' app from Apple AppStore

From 'Endgadget'...

Quote:

"We have made the decision to remove our HERE Maps app from the Apple App Store because recent changes to iOS 7 harm the user experience. iPhone users can continue to use the mobile web version of HERE Maps under m.here.com, offering them location needs, such as search, routing, orientation, transit information and more, all completely free of charge."

I tried 'Here'... It was itself an affront to the user experience... No great loss here.

and here.com still does not fully support US editing

Once every few weeks I try again to use the regular website here.com to report errors in the map database supporting our Garmin GPSrs.

On my most recent try about a week ago, it still did not list the USA or Canada as countries in which full editing was available. While many dozens of countries are so listed mostly they are very small ones.

I hope Nokia adds resources to these efforts soon.

still no joy for USA

The map creator function at here.com still does not list USA (or Canada, nor nearly all the countries in Europe) as countries in which maps "can be fully edited".

I have tried attempting a very few edits in the Albuquerque, NM, USA area. While the interface appears to allow me to suggest a change, when I click on the "my recent activity" tab, it says I have not yet edited anything.

By the way, the list of countries for which maps can be fully edited in Europe is:

Belarus
Faroe Islands
Svalbard and Jan Mayen

This is their list--I won't argue with you about whether these are all countries.
