Lost my windmill

Miss POI just informed me that I lost my hard-earned windmill. Now I have to work hard to earn it back.

By the way, I'll be in DC for a week next month. Anybody knows of a good Thai restaurant near DuPont Circle?

Don't know of a Thai place

Don't know of a Thai place off the top of my head but if you are in the Dupont Circle area you are a short cab ride from Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street NW. Stop and check it out! It's worth the trip.

Officer I'm sorry I was going the wrong way on that one-way street but my GPS told me to turn left ... Oh, I'm still getting a ticket, okay then the GPS will see ya in court!

Ben's Chili Bowl

Stan:
Thanks. I heard of it too. I'll try it out. Still looking for a GOOD Thai restaurant.

What did you not do?

What did you not do that caused you to loose your windmill?

According to the FAQ's, you need to have posted at least 3 times over the past 5 weeks, to become an active member.

No Posting

I checked in everyday to see if anything was interesting enough, but did not post for a while. I thought daily check-in would suffice to be active. Evidently not, it cost my windmill. Miss POI was tough but fair.

LOL! Wingsang, I am the

LOL! Wingsang, I am the same way. Went away for a bit and bammo!... no more wind catcher for me.

*wink*

I don't mind. This site is great with or without my Holland reminder.

Holydoc

I must agree with you. This site is great. I especially appreciate those contributors that work tirelessly to come up with POIs for everyone to use. If I can't contribute, the least I can do is to be appreciative. Thank you to all the contributors.

You're not alone...

LOL Same thing happened to me. Guess "lurking" doesn't count as "active". Live and learn. wink

Yeh!

Yeh! I got my windmill back. I'm in good grace with Miss POI again. Now, I just have to remember the difference between "lurking" and "posting", huh?

yup, once I get my talons

yup, once I get my talons into you I am not letting go;)

Miss Poi

Miss POI, I hope it is automated.

I hope you do not have to mannually keep score of how often a person posts in order to keep their windmill. Wow, that would be too much work. smile

Don't worry, gymkep

She POI has photographic memory. Just don't let her get her talons into you she's not letting go, so was I told.

JM is a genius and has built a pretty sophisticated system for us to use, what that man can do with drupal is amazing. It is automated and I just have to make sure that I do my part and give credit to the people that are donating red light camera locations.

He built me a log book that every user has so when I get a new location I take the info out of the email and stick it in your logbook which the system then counts as activity on our site.

Miss Poi

DC Thai

I've heard really good things about The Regent Thai Cuisine over on 1910 18th Street NW (between North T St & N Willard St). My wife & I love Thai but haven't had a chance to try it it out, but it's been recommended to us by a few couples who are foodies.

Thanks, jumperlee

I'll make a note of it. If I do wander in, I'll post a report here.

sharp talons

i had those talons a while back, keep posting y'all is my only advice!!

I wonder if this kind of application can be used outside of this site. I wonder if it's application can be used for other sites like school online 'blackboards' where students have to log in and do homework or such.... or other creative enterprises. I wonder if you can make create a business selling this type of program?... think google would be interested? =D

The Shy Suffer...but not in silence anymore

I usually check in once a week for new stuff and updates. If I don't have anything of merit to contribute, I don't post. But having lost my Windmill, I will be shy no more. I hope I don't bore anyone but I will post to get my Windmill back and keep posting to keep it. I apologize in advance, but the rules are the rules...

I don't know where I'm going or remember where I've been...without Garmin.

Live and learn

I did exactly what you did, checked in once a week for new stuff and updates. I didn't post, as a result, I lost my windmill. I got it back through active participation. This is a good site. I don't want to lose again. "Rules are the rules.", then, there is the dreaded talon
