They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Fair winds and following seas to my departed shipmates, and a salute to all who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
They shall not grow old...
I will remember and reflect to those who sacrificed for me and others.
Thinking of all our Veterans today. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Land of the free
BECAUSE of the brave
Thank you for your service and sacrifices in keeping our country free and independent!
God bless to all who have served in defending our freedom.
A warm, resounding thank you to all vets.
Thank you for all your sacrifice. God Bless You All.
God bless and thank you to all who are serving and to those who have served in defending our freedom.
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
It was an honor to stand with two WW2 veterans at the front of the church yesterday. We received a very long standing ovation
Thanks to everyone who has served before us. God bless you.
For serving and keeping us safe
I lost several friends either in Vietnam or because of Vietnam. They will never be forgotten as long as we remember them. We are who we are, not because of politicians, but because of our veterans. They are the ones who make the USA. Without them, there would not be a United States of America. If you see a vet today; stop them and thank them for everything they have done for the country and for you.
to protect our country. So many have given their lives, suffered permanent injuries and made sacrifices in their lives so that we could have what would not have been possible.
Who have the b@lls to do what I did not.
Thank you to Vets of all the Armed Forces for your service. Freedom is not free!
A sincere thanks to all our brave Veterans!
Being a veteran myself, my prayers go out to all our veterans and their families for the sacrafices they make. I am thankful that people appreciate our veterans these days unlike when I served.
I only wish they would have better health benefits than what they have. The politcians who send them to war make sure they have the best, that's so unfair.
Greeting to all my fellow Veterans. Enjoy your day, and to all my fellow Vietnam Veterans: Welcome Home Brothers!
Whatever our politics, on this we should agree:
Without our vets' sacrifice, we would not be so free.
A bittersweet Veteran's Day story: The last toast for the surviving four Doolittle Tokyo Raiders out of 80 dauntless men... and God Bless them all. For those unfamiliar with this nugget, it's a story of sacrifice for one's country and raw courage:
Thank You for thinking of us veterans
The Brits do it well. Every soccer game the last day before (or on) 11/11 and the first day after 11/11 had a ceremony. Simple. One was a small wreath of red poppies placed at the center mark. Then a minute of silence.
Thank you, to all military members, past and present for protecting our country, for the sacrifices you make and hardships you endure.
Thank you for your service to keep our country safer.
It was an honor to walk with my fellow Marine Vets in the Veterans Day parade yesterday...
(And Veterans Day was 1 day after the Marine Corps Birthday!!)
I am truly Grateful for the sacrifices of our veterans.
Many thanks to all of our veterans
the profession of arms and those who follow it have shaped nations and changed the history of the world
