Report from the NE Woods ...

Local wooly bears are showing a solid sienna stripe on their otherwise black bodies. While scientists like to dismiss these buggers ability to forecast the coming NE winter (you know, the types that hold NOAA forecasts in high regard), the fact is the woolies got it right the last two winters predicting rather benign conditions.

Cold

Had to switch the furnace on this morning to take the chill out of the house. Rains last week caused the grass to green up but the lawn now needs a haircut.

Late today

Just finished my commute from LAS to PHX. Nothing exciting to report. Saw a tarantula crossing 93 near Wickenburg.

Lots of roadkill as the seasons are changing and creatures are moving.
