Chicago removing cameras at 18 intersections

It's about time! As I said in another post, hit them in the pocketbook. They say they succeeded in reducing right angle crashes. (I NEVER remember right angle crashes happening on the corner by my house, one of the ones to be removed.) I say they weren't making any money off them and that's the reason for removal.

Yes, we drive through one of the intersections with the RLC being removed. I'm glad it is being removed. Better yet, leave those cameras there and figure out a way to catch distracted cellphone use purposes during driving.

Money flow slows - cameras disappear. It's simple math.

In a similar article in the Chicago Tribune, it said that 36 red light cameras in total are coming down by January 31st.

As the red light cameras come down, speed cameras are going up.
