Aftermarket Garmin GPS Navigation System in 2011 2012 2013 2014 Toyota Sienna

Has anyone attempted to install / retrofit an aftermarket Garmin Nuvi GPS in a 2011+ Toyota Sienna while maintaining all built-in functions such as radio, climate controls, etc? This avoids the costly factory navigation system. I'm wondering if this is possible. It has been done in other vehicles.

Updates

I can't comment on installing an aftermarket unit, but if you are interested in updating the maps to keep them current, I've heard some dealerships offer big discounts on the previous year's update.

Well I have a Honda Odyssey

Well I have a Honda Odyssey and the map updates are outrageous - like $149 each year. I'd much rather buy a lifetime maps garmin and be done with it. I retrofitted a Garmin Nuvi 2797LMT in my 2009 Accord with a USB cable through the glove box and it works like a charm! I'm thinking about the Sienna and would love to do likewise if it's possible. Some car dashboard layouts are more conducive to that than others.
