Combo-Cameras Coming!

The Montgimme County Council is considering installing the newly developed Combo-Camera system at major intersections. The new system will issue tickets for those running red lights, those speeding, especially those speeding up to get through on the yellow, will issue tickets for tailgaters, will photograph the driver and passengers and issue tickets for those not wearing seatbelts, and those drivers holding a handheld device (cellphone) to their ear. It will use facial recognition to issue the citation to the driver and not merely the registered owner of the vehicle. It will issue a summons for those drivers not complying with the state's requirement for headlights on during rain, and those without headlights on, dusk through dawn. Using a head count technology, owners of vehicles with more passengers than the vehicle is designed to carry will be issued a ticket. Newly developed laser technology can determine the alcoholic content of the air inside the vehicle and will instantly notify the nearest police patrol car of a suspected drunk driver with a description of the vehicle and the direction of travel. All license plate information of every vehicle passing through the intersection will be instantly analyzed, and those registered owners with outstanding warrants or tickets will have their vehicle's location and direction of travel reported immediately to the nearest police patrol vehicle.
The Montgimme County Council hopes to raise enough revenue from these Combo-Camera systems to finance the entire county Education Department and build the Spa and Golf Course for the County Executive and his staff in the Allegheny Green Hills.
Ain't technology wonderful? :>)

Confirmation Bias

I am sure there will be lots of people who will believe you right now.

Combo-Cameras Coming! How Fast?

Sorry, couldn't resist: If a combo-camera comes too fast, does it take a photo of itself (a selfie?)

You forgot an aspect

It'll use sound vibration technology to analyze the sounds the tires make and issue a ticket for over/under inflated balloons...

New cameras

Someplace a county commisioner is reading this and is getting very excited. I can see them trying to find out where they can get them.

As a long time Montgimmie

As a long time Montgimmie County resident, I can easily believe your spiel!! The behaviour is well in keeping with County policy. Besides, they're so short of money to give away, how can they pass up this opportunity!

Thanks for the chuckle.

Additional Recognition Technology

Don't forget, the cameras also have bumper sticker recognition technology and issue you a summons to attend a reeducation class if you support the wrong issues and political parties.

yep

New cameras

Having lived in the democratic republic of Montgomery County for many years this sounds exactly like something they would do.

reinstalled speed camera

FYI: if you drive on Dennis Ave. in SS, be aware that on Monday they reinstalled the speed camera in front of Sligo Middle School (30 mph)for westbound drivers. POIs have always indicated a speed zone there, and now it's for real. A good place for the speed camera, with all the kids walking to school, better than some of the bogus spots on other roads.

several have been in

Several of these combo cameras have been in for some time. There are some on Gude Drive and Research and a couple other places on Gude. Those are some of the upgraded fixed locations and have multiple camera units on the same pole along with a panel antenna for the radar measuring speed.

A GPS can take you where You want to go but never where you WANT to be.

Go ahead and laugh, if it is a revenue gitter

It will be manufactured and used, remember the smog camera's that ticketed passing vehicles emissions? I trust my gov totally to do what's right and just for me, lol!!

A Few Days Early

Only 217 days until April 1, 2014.

Might not be quite as sci fi eventually

It's sad, but combo cameras like this might actually exist eventually the way things are headed. Of course, some of the details are probably off. No need for facial recognition once you can mandate implanted ID chips, etc. No need for the camera whatsoever once you can mandate devices like this in cars, etc.

Pay in Advance

Bet the new system will even collect fines before you start your vehicle.

they will increase driver license fees and motor vehicle registration to cover future traffic law violations that you will have.

OK this one -- Newly

OK this one -- Newly developed laser technology can determine the alcoholic content of the air inside the vehicle -- is currently a stretch, but the technology is available for all the rest including facial recognition.

Just Thought I'd Mention It

Just thought that I'd mention that I sent off your summary above to the County Council.

Wonder whether or how they'll respond. They acknowledged receiving it, of course.

Coming Soon

The original description of the combo camera might sound far-fetched and sarcastic. That's just today's vewpoint.
The outlandishness of "1984" seemed unreal, except it has all become reality.
Give it just a few months or maybe years. Sadly, the sheeple will come to accept this and much more.

Already there.

Is the air monitoring actually a stretch when we can determine exactly the gasses in the atmosphere of far-away planets?
