Photo with Favorites listings?

I already did that, but can't find anyway to attach photos to the listings

Supposedly you can add a picture to the favorites on the 2460.

In the manual, look at the index on the left for "Finding Locations" and expand the category. Now select favorites and it should bring you to page 21 for directions.

The trick is to open up an existing favorite, then select edit, then scroll down to "Change Photo" to save a photo with that favorite.

I've never had the need to use this feature but I tried it and it didn't work for me. I selected a photo on my Nuvi but didn't see it appear anywhere.
The photo was one of several I use for the Nuvi wallpaper, the size is 480W X 280H pixels.

The first time you try to add a photo to a specific favorite it will display "Assign Photo"
Once assigned if you go back in and edit it will display "Change Photo". That tells me a photo was assigned, however I don't see it displayed.
Either I'm doing something wrong, or the feature does not work

Same with muell9k, I do not seem to have a need to assign photos to my favorites.

Just went through the same sequence muell9k did and assigned a photo to one of my favorite. Same results.

Did a "Where To?", selected the favorite, clicked on the bubble next to the location of the favorite on the map that showed up on the next screen. This brings up a couple of screenful of info on the favorite. At the bottom of the second screen is the photo together with the distance and the time it takes to travel. I am not sure what the value of it is though.

Power cycle. The photo assignment is gone.

Tried the same sequence on my 2495 (US). Same behavior as the 2465(TW), except that the photo assignment now sticks after power cycle.

I think, the photo assignment feature in the 23X0/24X0 series is broken.

Garmin fixed it in the 24X5/25X5 series. Now with the functional "new and improved" behavior, i.e., the photo assignment is visible only when you are editing the favorite/saved. ???

Another blunder and useless feature Garmin has bestowed upon us. As I mentioned, I would not use it,
but if it's present one would expect it to work.

I have two custom poi files with a jpg for each entry. I use it for pictures of county court houses.
My GoTO > Favorites is always empty.

Is there a Garmin that shows actual views on the maps?

All I want is to have the pictures appear next to the favorite name like I did with my 255W, is that too much to ask? haha. It was just a fun way to search through favorites.

This is a good feature in my opinion. It is this way in my 1370(TW) too and I like it. Garmin "improved" it from the 2xxx series on and rendered it pretty much worthless. Maybe they have restored to the old way in the year-2013 series.

Now I remember. All three of my Garmins have that. Sorry yours does not.

How do I attach a photo to a favorite on my nuvi, dezl or LIVE device?
Answer:
On many devices you can associate a picture with a favorite.

To attach or assign a photo to a favorite on a nuvi 205, 465, 500, 705, 800, 805, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1690, 2200, 2300, 2400, 3700, 5000 series, dezl 560, LIVE 2300 series, or LIVE 1695:

Touch Where To?
Touch Favorites
Select the Favorite that you would like to add a photo to
Touch Edit
Some devices require that you touch the menu button (three horizontal lines) before this step
Touch Attach or Assign Photo
Select the photo you would like to attach or assign
Touch Back
The photo that was selected is attached to the favorite.

To assign a photo to a favorite on a nuvi 2405, 2505, 3400, 3500 series or a dezl 760:

Touch Where To?
Touch Saved
Select the Favorite that you would like to add a photo to
Touch info button (center button)
Touch menu button (three horizontal lines)
Touch Edit
Touch Assign Photo
Select the photo you would like to attach
Touch Back
The photo that was selected is attached to the favorite.

The picture must be loaded to the devices internal memory and not on an SD card in the device.

Thanks for the comprehensive instructions but I can confirm it does not work on the 2460LMT.
The picture was only used once (no others assigned a photo, and it was on the 2460's internal memory, not an SD card.

Maybe others using a different model Nuvi can confirm the method works for them. If so, it must be a firmware issue and unlikely Garmin will update the firmware on a discontinued model.
