2595LMT

I got a new 2595LMT. Works great.

I have one issue though. I have the Portable Friction Mount. This unit does not have the anything in the back to attach on the friction mount.

Did others get this along with the unit? Should i contact Garmin?

bracket

you should have a bracket to mount to the ball of the friction mount.

If the 2595 is like the 2597 when you first get the unit. looking at the back of the gps you see just a empty circle. In your packaging you have a small attachment that fits into the hole that allows you to attach to your friction mount clip or windshield mount.

it needs the clip

I have the 2595 and you have to get the clip seen above (eBay).

If you did not get the clip call Garmin.

Overall I really like mine. Especially the sleep/instant on, traffic, of course big screen, voice command, hot mount, up ahead, and the nav functionality. It replaces a 1490t and and find myself using it all the time just to play with all the feature. On the con side, not happy with the blue tooth: low volume, poor sound quality, and some connectivity problems. If BT important to you, test this first to see how it works with YOUR phone. I also loaded POI FACTORY red light cam app and it works great; small fee but worth it to me in NYC/LI metro area. I updated to firmware 2.7 but I don't care about map updates ESP since there seems to be problems with garmins servers and worrying about this tech stuff is just too annoying.

bad speaker quality and volume

I've tried bluetooth with two different phones on my 2495LMT with poor sound quality and volume on both. I've never read anything good about nuvi bluetooth performance except when used with a mounting bracket with built in speaker. I've gotten higher volume by temporarily putting something to reflect sound from the rearward speaker.

Agree

I agree - the vent mounts are very inexpensive (on ebay), recommend leaving in place, work very well.

Yes that part that clips to the 2595 is definately supposed to come with it. They will send you one free

2595 Wiring

We replaced a 360 with a 2595 recently. The 360 was great, since the power cable attached to the mount, rather than the unit itself. Is there any 3rd party product that would provide similar functionality? My wife likes to hand it to me to program while driving and she can't with the cable attached (we have the cabling built into the dash).

Any assistance would be appreciated!
