Lat/Long. in the Garmin

I have a SP c550. I have a question about some of the other Garmin units. My brother had an old Garmin that he could see the Lat/Long. on the unit, or maybe he could put in the Lat/Long. and see it on the GPS. But, I cannot do that on the 550. Do any of the new models let you use the Lat/Long. to see it on the GPS or see the Lat/Long for a Favorite you saved?

I am asking because I created a file for Panera Bread in Texas. When I was traveling I noticed one of the locations was incorrect. I was at a Panera Bread, but the icon was in the wrong place. It would have been nice to see the Lat/Long. for the location I was parked at, where the Panera Bread was actually located. Then I could have come home and correct my file so much easier.

w/nuvi 350

From the c550 manual, it appears the screen is similar to the nuvi 350. Go to the menu screen where you have the satellite signal bars in the upper left corner. Press the bars and a satellite page should come up with the coordinates.

A couple things you can try

On the main screen, touch on the green bars on the upper left of the screen - if you get a satellites screen like one gets on Nuvis, your current coordinates are in the lower left corner.

Does the C550 have an option on the menu after you hit "where to" on the main screen that says "coordinates"? If it does, you can select that, and you'll see your present location, and have a button to hit to save that location.

If neither of those options work, you can touch the vehicle icon on the map screen, then touch "yes' to save the location.

no, no, & no

None of that works on the 550 (I went outside and tried it). I am fairly sure the Lat/Long. info is not available on the 550. But, this is the place to find out how if there is a way to do it. And, it would be great if I am wrong.

I guess what I am asking is do any of the new ones still have that funtion, or are they all like the 550. I am considering getting another one for my other vehicle and am hoping the other new ones have the function. I would like it to still have Bluetooth, it fact that is a must. Do the new Nuvi's with Bluetooth have the Lat/Long info?

coordinates

The sp 2720 does that see if your unit has a place called coordinates you should be able to put it in and also see it on the screen like the 2720 does

Nuvis have the satellite screen when you touch the bars in the upper left of the main screen; they also have a "coordinates" selection among those available when you select 'where to' on the main screen; and from there you can save your current location to your favorites and retrieve those coordinates later as discussed above.

What I do with the 530 is

What I do with the 530 is touch the location that I want to save and save it to my favorites. Then I go and use POI Edit and save it as a garmin csv file.

According to gpsmagazine.com

According to GPS Magazine c550 Report, you can save your current location on the c550 by tapping the vehicle icon on the map but you cannot view the coordinates.

Longitude and Latitude on c5xx

1. The c5xx does not display this data
2. As asianfire said, tap the vehicle icon and save as a favorite. Then, as an option, you can import that favorite into Mapsource where you can see the latitude and the longitude.
3. For the data that was in error, you can save that as a favorite and then move it to mapsource as in step 2.

Garmin StreetPilot c530, Mapsource

Correct

The C550 does not display lat and long. It also does not have a satellite signal strength page.

Two features I wish my c550 had.

However the work around described above is the easiest way to accomplish the requested task.
