Question can a standalone GPS in my case a TomTom be updated using wifi or do you need to be connected to the internet with an Ethernet connection. I have a new laptop on the way and this will be my first computer with wifi. Thanks.
Update
You can use either way.
Cheers

At the risk of stating the obvious
No offense intended, but at the risk of stating the obvious, you still need to connect your TomTom to your computer with a cable. The computer can get its information via wi-fi, but the GPS still has to be physically connected to the computer.
I am reasonably sure that you were asking *only* about whether or not the computer can get its information from the Internet via wi-fi, but decided to mention the need for a cable from the GPS to the computer just to be sure that there was no misunderstanding.
With best wishes,

Re:Using Wifi
Yes I will have my TomTom physically connected to my computer via USB. You are correct I was wondering if using wifi instead of actually plugging in an Ethernet cable was ok.
