Dezl 760LMT won't take POI like my other Nuvi's have

I posted this question for help on the GPS Reviw Net as well.
I just got the new Dezel 760. I opened up POI Loader as I always have on my 1490T,2460,Montana and others and choose my POI file I've had for years. Only partial show. I know about 50 closest. It's not that. Normally when I open the Custom POI file in Extras on my 2460 or 1490T it shows all the files in Alpha order. i.e. Dunkin Donuts,Cracker Barrel,Bass Pro Shops, etc. These are all from POI factory I've had for a while. Only a few of them show and they are all from the folder I have called truck stops. None of the Dunkin, etc. show.
Also on a side note I hade to change a setting in the hidden menu to show mass storage so Mapsource would recognize it.

Perhaps...

Perhaps we could help unravel this if you would run POI Loader again (and I assume you have a current version).

Ask POI Loader to delete all existing POIs.

Then point POI Loader to your high level POI folder on your computer and reload the POIs.

Make note of the number of POIs loaded.

Tell us whether or not you have sub-folders of POIs or whether there is just a "MyPOIs" type folder which contains only files like
->Bass Pro Shops.gpx ->Cracker Barrel.csv ->Dunkin Donuts.csv,etc

I have been working at it over the weekend.

Using Current POI loader from Garmin.

I have multiple times removed poi files then reloaded them.

I have them in a file folder as Bass Pro Shops.gpx ->Cracker Barrel.csv ->Dunkin Donuts.csv,etc

I had one file folder inside called Trucking stops with multible poi files of Pilots, etc This use to show fine in my other Nuvis. Made it easy to find them instead of going down the list. I took out this folder because it conflicted the loading of POI. After taking this out they show. All the POI's. But not in alpha order i.e. Bass Pro,Dunkin,Cabelas, etc. They show the closest. Which is a pain. Takes along time to search and I have to spell it right. Plus I don't know what's there.

On my 2460 and 1490 the POI loader had no issues. When I went to extras they showed up listed just like my file folder of them. In alpha order, folders I made showed so I could click into them and choose easily.
I hope there is a way to cheat Pete to get them installed like my other Nuvi's would do.

Works For Me

I'm not sure if this aplies to your Dezel 760, but you can try this method.

POI's are displayed in the order they were entered into the Nuvi. I use POI loader and save the files to my PC for backup, then copy them to my Nuvi in the order I want them appear.

If using Windows, I use Windows Explorer to accomplish this.

If you want a certain category or file to appear first, you must enter it first. Below is an example of how the files will appear in the order entered.

1-Red Light Cameras
2-Speed Cameras
3-Rest Stops
4-Stores (this can be a file with numerous stores, they will appear in alphabetical order)
5-Restaurants (this can be a file with numerous restaurants, they will appear in alphabetical order)

What you can do is copy all the files from your POI folder on your Nuvi to a folder on your PC. Then copy them back in the order you want them to appear.

I don't have that many so it's a simple task, however, if you have many it could be a chore.
I'm sure somebody has a better suggestion but this works for my needs.

So you don't use POI Loader

So you don't use POI Loader to send them. You just copy the files or file directly to the Nuvi using My Computer to look inside for the POI folder there in.

I Should Have Been Clearer

I use POI loader to initially create the .gpi file, and within POI Loader Program I select save the file to PC. I then have all my POI files in a folder on my PC.

I then copy the files in the order I want them from the PC to the Nuvi's POI folder. They then appear in the order I copied them.

There is a disadvantage though. If you replace the files with updated ones they will be at the bottom of the list. I believe this is due to the date stamp the files were added.

Since I only have 5 POI files I simply delete them all from my Nuvi and copy them back in the order I want them. This would not be practical for somebody that has many POI files.

Are you able to compare Poi

Are you able to compare Poi files for the two GPSs with some text editor?

I'm not familiar with a text

I'm not familiar with a text editor. But I got the POI to show in alpha order by using 2 folders in the main folder holding all files. The gps gave me a warning of 32 limit on a failed transfer so I grouped them into 2 folders a to m and n to z. This did it. In other words when I open the catargories in the Dezl and find custom poi there in the files show alpha. Best Buy then next line Cabela's,etc.
But the funny thing is when I made a shortcut that the Dezl can do and put it on the main menu it shows the 2 folders called a to m and n to z. very odd.
