Garmin Sound Issue

I think I know the answer, but has anyone had the problem of the speed camera alert warning (synthesized voice) getting stuck if it gives multiple warnings for the same location? Example, beep beep beep...start slowing downnnnnn spppppppppeeeeeeedd camera aheeeeeeeeeeeadddddd". Only way to reset it is to restart the GPS. Only happens on my Nuvi 255. I am now trying a non synthesized warning voice. Keeing my fingers crossed.

could be how

It could be related to how you trigger the alert and the distance used. I would stay away from using a TourGuide alert as these have been known to cause systems to freeze when multiple alerts trigger within the same area.

I did, I used the audio file on the site for speed cameras.I am now trying another audio to see if that solves the issue. Thanks

possible

Is it possible that the file is too much for the Garmin to handle when there's too many things going off at once?

You may want to create your own sound using the below link. Select a voice, then type in the message.
Then hit "Speak", next hit "OPEN" to listen to the message. If you don't like the persons voice just change it. Once satisfied, click on Download, then rename the .wav file to match your POI files.

I use the voice of Mike with message of "Caution, Speed Camera Ahead". It’s short and to the point.

Sound Issues

First time I've ever heard of a problem like this.

Only thing I've experienced is weird pronounciations.

Great App!

I have used that application and it works great. I made up my own rest area, speed cam and redlight cam announcements and they sound great. The female voice I used sounds very realistic (not as synthesized-sounding as the Garmin voices) and if you fiddle with the letters of the word, you can really fine tune it. They came out so well, I sent them here to share with the group. I highly recommend trying this app.
