Keeping the Windmill Alive - Your last trip? - February 2013

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share with us the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you use it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.) Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

Work

I've been working local the last week, to and from downtown Pittsburgh. Using the GPS for traffic though there aren't too many detours to use.

Last Trip

Flew out to the left coast and used the trusty Nuvi in the rental car. Always feels good to just put in an address and blast off with reasonable assurance that you will get to your destination in an unknown area.

Junkyards

I needed a part so my faithful 1998 Civic could pass it's annual inspection. I followed the route the nuvi took me in instead of the one I knew. I was pleasantly surprised. Got me there, and I discovered a lovely place to grab breakfast on the way over!

Civic's

I love that we can go to junkyards to find parts. My civic is a 97. I named her Lois. I've only had her for a little over 3 years but I've learned so much about these cars and all the things I can fix myself. I'm going to be pretty bummed when she retires. Fortunately she only has about 130,000 miles on her so I still have time. smile

new purchase

Just bought a nuvi 3490lmt for <$250. Looking forward to trying it out on my trip to Atlanta. They added the 3d digital traffic to this and I am curious how well it will perform. I should receive it on 3/1

No luck in the junkyards

No 1960 Internationals in the wrecking yards. Luckily bought a t-boned truck a few years ago. I have an extra starter, generator, distributor, radiator, hub caps, grille and a heater. So far only 166,660 miles.
