Got the Nuvi 2555LMT as a gift for Christmas. So far so good. Very fast acquisition time and the search feature is faster. Loaded my POI file and it tucks it away under- Where to – Categories - Custom POI.
You get the option to add a short cut to the “Where to” page but not for “Custom POI”.
Anybody figured out a work round.
While we're waiting...
While we're waiting for someone with a 2555, here's what I found with my 2460. Maybe there will be a similarity between our units.
On my 2460, I can customize the "Where To" page, but I can not select Custom POIs either. I can select "Extras" to appear on my Where To menu, so maybe your 2555 will let you select "Categories" as a Custom icon on the Where To page and if so, you'd tap on Where To the following: Categories/CustomPOIs just as I can tap Extras/Custom POIs on my customized 2460 main screen.
A similar issue arises on my 2460. Unless someone can show me how, Custom POIs can not be reached through Voice Commands. Custom POIs can only be accessed by me with screen taps.
I do really like the ability to customize the Where To page with the exception of not being able to list Custom POIs.
No Show
My “Where to” screen has an “Add Shortcut” icon. The options then are, “Favorite Search” “Category” “Saved Place” “Intersections” “Cities” “Coordinates”
Hitting the “Category” gives every category except for Custom POI.
Custom POI seems to be in another folder called “Other Categories” and this folder does not appear when you go through the above procedure.

Shortcuts for Custom POI are not supported.
