What the report doesn't make clear is how a collision at an intersection was proven to be due to red light running before there was photographic evidence showing the collision. Were cases prior to the installation of the camera based solely on witness testimony? How many intersection collisions occurred where one driver was suspected of running the light couldn't be substantiated due to a lack of witnesses or other evidence so they were never documented as such. While the study does show some interesting facts, the data set used for the "before" is inconclusive as it only looks for two specific types of documented collisions and apparently ignores other accidents where running the light may have been a factor.

High crime area also

In the study, there were only 5 accidents in a 5 year period before RLC...
Also: "Vote Yes on N to Ban the Cams" campaign signs are being torn down.

"We do not know who is behind it," Diana Serafin said in an email. "We have had at least 15 yard signs taken from people's front yards. I got permission from corner houses home owners and the signs have been removed. Are we really a safe city?"

Vote Yes on N to Ban the Cams

Glad to see that it passed!

Even after American Traffic Systems spent 80,000 and Redflex 25,000....

Glad it passed

I too am glad the camera ban passed. Now, if we could just get them banned everywhere....

Back to Court

It appears this is not over... even after the voters have spoken...

By the way cameras will be turned off 12/14/12 and will remain up til the outcome of this case
