2GB Data Card for Garmin 276/376

On a BMW Motorcycle forum http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=699435&highlight... , I read a discussion about the availability of a 1 or 2gb chip for older Garmin Data Cards which fit the GPSMAP 276 and 376 series and similar units. I sent my payment to the dealer in Russia http://www.garminych.ru/index.php?productID=829 and sure enough, the chip showed up after about 3 weeks. It is just the internal part of the card, so you have to cannibalize an existing card, take it apart, and replace the internal chip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTospcxgqvQ.

I'm pleased to say it works like a champ!! I now have one data card that includes almost the entire US in CNNA 2013 and most of New Mexico in Topo US 24K!!!

Stay thirsty my friends - don't drink and drive!

The GPSMAP 276/376

The GPSMAP 276/376 was Garmin's best navigator series for those who can deal with all that functionality AND the amazingly bright and extremely sunlight readable TFT display. I orignially bought mine to use on my bike.

The backlight on mine is dimmed and requires servicing, plus I use a Zumo of my bike these days and a variety of Nuvis in my cars so I don't use the 276 any more
