One LMT But Want Maps on 2 PC's

Okay here is what I would like to do. I have a desktop and lap top PC's. I currently use my desktop to upgrade my 3590LMT so both MapSource and BaseCame are using the most current maps 2013.2. No problems with the install and both MS and BC were updated to use the current version of maps. What I would like to do is also have my lap top to have 2013.2 installed and working.

First I am not sure if this would be a violation of any Garmin end user agreement but if it is I will just forget about it. I did try copying the files from the Programs Folder over and overlay the existing programs but that did not work. Update must be changing the registry.

I was thinking of trying to do a map reinstall via the lap top but I am not sure if the second attempt would count as one of my 4 updates per year because there is nothing currently wrong with the current update on the 3950.

Ideas? Any work arounds?

Just DL it (computer only) to the other PC. No big deal, and no foul.

Would not count. Think about it - lots of people have to go through several attempts at getting a map onto their unit. Might have to buy a SD card because the map was too big for their unit, etc.

Try it - report back please.

Not a problem

I do that on three computers I own to let me use MapSource on each with the newest map. Just log on and selct to install to "Computer only"!!!!!

Thanks for the reply. I did what was recommended by doing an install on "computer only" and I now have the lap top updates to date. Everything is working with MapSource and BaseCamp. Now if only I could get use to using BaseCamp I may get somewhere.
