It depends
on the content of the GPX file. If the file contains POI's then the links given by charlesd45 and CraigW will help. A GPX file can also contain routes, favorites and tracks. If you are trying to import that type of content, then we need more information about what model Garmin you have and the type of content in the GPX file.
