I suspect you do not since you are asking about gpi. In that case you need to convert it and then load it again.

poi.gpi file

i have 2 or 3 copies of the poi.gpi file. my hard drive crashed and my backup saved the bmp and wav but not the gpx files. i had assumed that the gpx files would be backuped. the gpx are not a standard backup file. you have to manually add the gpx file into the backup search list.

converter

i have tried this converter. had no luck with it on the first go. i am going to try it again.

Try google search

A google search brings up choices. I have not tried any though.

What backup system are you using?

GPSbabel

although kind of hard to wrap your head around, does a good job of reverse coding .gpi files.

clickfree backup

i use clickfree backup. it works great for common files. the file extension gpx is not on its list of files to backup. the extension has to be manually added to the library

gpi2gpx converter

found this converter but itsonly a demo. it did list 3 pois but its 20 euros. doesn't seem much if it works for whaqt i need

Try Syncback

It is free and you can schedule to backup folders, sub folders, files , all folders and files or just specific ones. It does not care what the extension is.
