deleting maps

I want to load the latest Europe City map but MYGARMIN tells me I do not have enough space.
Can I delete the existing maps on the 255w and how ?

Just plug your 255W to USB
Just plug your 255W to USB port and open folder Garmin, you can delete the gmapsupp.img file, it is the largest file in the folder.
Deleting the old map
probably won't help, because the map update installer does that step automatically. The problem is that the new map is larger than the one it is replacing and if you are tight on space, it may not fit. Your choice is to either install a limited region or install all or part of the map to SD card.
