I'd have to say that I've been off the 'map update merry go round'.
Not much has changed in the chi-town area...so its not a 'panic' to get the latest maps..

Seems to me, on page 41 of your 1390 manual it tells you how to. Same for the 14xx it seems. But who reads the Manual?
