POI Verifier

Gee, I have been away for a year or more... and things change so fast. The POI Verifier program I used will not work on my Windows 7 (64 bit) machine. I understand that the web site is shut down due to the contributers health problems. Is there any way I can get a copy of POI Verifier that will work on Windows 7?

Hope this isn't off topic....

Did You Try ?

Thanks !

I have tried that, but my registration number will not work. I may have recorded it incorrectly. If that is the case, I am up agaist a brick wall - so to speak...

I tried the Extra POI Editor (EPE), but can't get the HELP to work either. I tried everything that I could find for solutions. But no success - it wants to access the Internet, but the file is on my computer (I think).

I know that the HELP wants to access a "Compiled HTML" file, and when I look at the address in the properties, it does not go to any place on my computer.

A little frustrated, but am willing to hear suggestions.

EPE help does not

work on my 2 computers either. And I am running 2 different versions.

What are you trying to do other than get poi verifier?

Go to the EPE webpage at http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor and scroll down to where the download files are listed. There you'll find the HELP file Zip which you need to download, expand and place in the same folder as EPE.

Yes, I did that - same folder - right below (or in) the EPE .exe file folder. I get a screen with all the Index links data; but, when I try to go to (click on) a topic/subject, it doesn't go anywhere (no response).

The messgage on the screen says "Navigation to the webpage was canceled". Yes I am connected to the Internet. But the file should reside on my computer.

I am convinced that the path in the program to get to HELP is flawed and I don't know how to fix it.

Any more suggestion ?

POI Verifier

I have an older NUVI. In the 3rd field of SCV file there has to be an even number of characters. If it is an odd number, I get two lines of bold type for the description. The POI Verifier has a box to check to make sure there is an even number of characters and if not it rectifies it. It is a handy tool.

Help works now

I guess I didn't download the help files before.

Doh! Thanks
