Wireless Emergency Alert On Garmin Nuvi 1690 And 1695

I was looking at the information on the Wireless Emergency Alert system here in the United States and I was thinking it would be nice if that could be added to the Garmin Nuvi 1690 and 1695. I still use my Garminfone, so I should be all set with that.

You won't see this on stand-alone GPS units because they lack necessary radio receivers to connect to the cellular network. This might be something that Garmin puts out a firmware update for the Nulink enabled units - as they would be ale to connect to the cellular network.
The Garminfone may be capable of it, but will likely require a firmware update.

Garmin's NuLink models have cellular internet built-in... traffic, search, weather - those can update/alert...
