will the 1390lmt nuvi accept downloaded redlight sounds from this poi site?

wav, yes. mp3, no

Your 1390LMT can use wav audio files. I believe Macs don't need this but if using POI Loader from a PC, you also need sox.exe. Full instructions can be found here:

You can also load custom icons for the redlight and traffic POI files.
