Here's an interesting problem. I downloaded a pretty big BirdsEye area, something on the order of 8,000 "tiles". However, I neglected to check "transfer to GPS when finished". How can I transfer this area to my eTrex 30 withouth spending several hours downloading it all over again?

Just find the file on your computer. It will be a JNX file and it will be very large most likely.
Then put the GPS unit in Mass Storage Mode and copy the file over.

Did you download through Basecamp? It should show up in the lower left pane of Basecamp when you have My Collection selected. You can grab onto it there and drag and drop it on your Garmin device showing above it in your devices list.
