Is there an easy way to convert addresses into coordinates?

Exactly like the title says, I have a database of customer addresses and would like to add them as POIs. Is there any method to convert their addresses or do I have to find them on Google Maps and manually enter the coordinates?

Use any of the following

www.gpsvisualizer.com to geocode addresses
Google Earth
MS Streets & Trips

Those are just 3 that I use - simple to use for a simple person !

This might work

You can use extra POI editor. It works for getting coordinates to attractions and such. Just place a marker at the address then geocode it.

Extra POI Editor is the way to go as navycop said

I second that and use it myself all the time to create POI files just using an address. Just click on Add New POI button, enter the address info and then select the Geocoding button to the right side to get the coordinates and then the Grab button to enter them.

Extra POI Editor is free, works great:

.

Keep in mind that when you use geocoding programs you get an approximate location. Geocoding programs do not know the true locations of street addresses, the programs just make a guess.

They are a lot more accurate than they were just a few years ago. Drive testing and street view allows a more precise location as the beginning an end numbers on blocks are noted along with the coordinates.

You can zoom in, if you have an idea of where the POI is located. I did this for the Navy Federals with coin machines. The Geocoding was a little off but I just moved the pointer and now it is right on the building.
