Genuine, Old-school Diners

Hi Folks - I have a long list of genuine Diner Car Diners (aka Silk City, O'Mahoney, Worcester, DeRafelle, etc.) that I put together back in 2005 or so. Most of these are in the area of Ohio to Maine and south to DC. Back then I confirmed all by either calling or visiting during road trips. I would like to post this so others can help re-confirm the ones that are there, update ones that have moved, and mourn the one that have disappeared in the intervening years. Would it be better to post it here and ask for input, or post it in the POI list with a note that it has not been fully verified since 2008 and there are likely a few corrections?

This is NOT a "Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives" POI, it is actual Diners most of the locations taken from sources like DinerCity.com (RIP), Yahoo Roadside group and the like.

Are you going to be the maintainer

It sounds like many of the diners are already verified on Dinercity and Roadside, well maybe just Roadside.

Use this post for roll-out of the Old School Diner POI file. Confirm as many diners in your file as you can and post the file then as others to drive by unconfirmed diners for a look and co-ordinate.

Use this for your reference.

I created a POI way back in 2007 to but have not kept up with it..

see "http://www.poi-factory.com/node/2667"

for the poi and description. If you want, you could take it over and fix it up. I am no longer working on that one.

Re: Genuine, Old-school Diners

I'd be very happy to see someone adopt the existing file and help bring it up to date. I would definitely contribute to that effort any way I could.

Old School Diners

Agree, would be great to have someone take over and update that file!
