Hi gang,
It's been awhile, I've moved (will move again in 6-8 months) and fought with the phone company to "connect/transfer" my dsl line. Last week it was supposed to be finished, and even confirmed with the recording that my High Speed Internet connection order has been completed. Well, it wasn't. Several phone calls later and still nothing. Then it's work, and finishing the move and no time to check internet connections. Until today, well it's the 23rd and after the last rounds with the phone co. service was supposed to be up on the 19th, this time I got tier II support (tankyouverrrrymuuch), and in about 30 mins., dsl is back up. Now, it's rush because I'm leaving town on a cross country trip. Just wanted to touch base and say hi.....
and thanks to Bobkz for the NYC info....
I'm sure I could have used it, but must still be a work in progress...lol...
Wish I had more time to catch up on my 9 pages of unread posts. Now I won't be back for another 10 days.
Anyway, just wanted to let anyone interested I was still breathing...Have to get some sleep before the 1400 mile journey.
Now I'll go check my email. Take care y'all.
Oops

No Problem
Had a great trip. 3685 miles in all. Made my neices wedding in NJ, (stayed in Philly) visited some relatives in NJ, Took our son and daughter in law along and went past the old places where my wife and I grew up. Went to NY via Liberty Park in NJ, took the ferries to Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty then Battery Park. From there we walked the city, Ground Zero, NYSE, Trump Building etc.(much better plan than driving) plus a bunch of other sights then took the water taxi back to Liberty Park. Of course we had to sample some food the entire trip...Must have gained 20 pounds. Took in a Cave tour in Tennessee, and spent a few hours looking for Diamonds in Arkansas. (Crater of Diamonds State Park). We didn't find any but there were a couple found while we were there, one was a 1.18 ct
Anyway, the trip was great.
Also had a call from our realtor, two offers yesterday, and one today (while sitting in the Diamond field) this last one offered 600. more than the listed price. That's just as good as a diamond..lol
It's good to be back in our temporary home though.

Was the diamond field fun?
Was the diamond field fun? We were thinking of going. Looks hot to set and dig.
it was...interesting
Fun is a relative term...if you like being outside playing in dirt, then it's a blast.
Yes, it can be hot or cold depending on time of year. It can also be muddy and wet..that would be a good time to go just after a rain when the sun comes back out.
It's a state park, and camping is available if you wish, or just make it a day trip or overnight at a hotel etc.
If you haven't already, check out their web site

If you go, let us know if you find any!

When I go to NYC, usually 2-3 times a year, I never drive aeound the city. I drive to the upper Eastside and park my car in Spanish Harlem at about E100th and Lexington. Then jump on the #6 subway move around underground. Just have to remember to move your car to the other side of the street every other day.
The Diamond park sounded great, I bet after a good rain and then bright sun, you can walk along and see them glisten with out digging for them..
Glad you had a safe trip.
